Architecture, Building and Structure Design Kinuta Residential House by Nobuaki Miyashita Kinuta is a compact urban house in Tokyo that rethinks comfort on a very narrow plot. With a site width of 3.6 m and an effective frontage under 2.6 m, the main living space is lifted to the second floor to secure privacy and southern light. Within the required setback, a walled courtyard becomes an outdoor room with a timber deck and green walls, bringing air and calm into daily life. A linear entry, corridor, and stair emphasize depth. Dry joint cladding was coordinated early to keep corners crisp and the facade rhythm continuous.
