Farmer House in Kudara Country Home

Masato Sekiya

Architecture, Building and Structure Design Farmer House in Kudara Country Home by Masato Sekiya This location is very hot and humid in the summer. It was necessary to prevent the large roof from being heated by sunlight and making the entire house too hot. Therefore, a rainwater cooling system was adopted to take advantage of the wide roof. It is collected in a central atrium and pumped back up to the roof, where it is expected to cool the house through evaporation. In the winter the excess water is reused for toilets and other purposes, which is also environmentally friendly. The roof deck, with its characteristic curve, also provides a playground for children, even on a site with limit
